After threatening to do it for the last year, here I am finally putting together a website for my photographs. Apologies for taking so long to my friends who are not Facebook, where I have had my photos so far, members. After living and teaching in Cairo, Egypt for almost two years I've come to see that most everything here operates pretty much on the same principle as the traffic, a somewhat random free for all, which sometimes frustrates, often surprises, and eventually gets you there. Therefore I have named this blog Driving In Cairo. I did have opportunity to drive here for a while, but that's a later story. For now here I go hoping this format is an enjoyable place for those of you who have let me know you enjoy my work. The young woman in the photo is an orphan, living in the Dar el Salaam section of Cairo. One day some kids at my school put together a charity event for her and 300 of her fellow orphans. They all were more than willing subjects, with this young lady managing the queue of kids who wanted their pictures taken. I love her smile. If at some point I get it together to sell my photos the money from this gallery will go to her and her fellow orphans. So, as time permits I will add to this Welcome Gallery, and add others as I organize the last couple years of photos and add new ones from my travels and wanderings. Thanks.
